Anna arrives in Paris to visit her pregnant friend Caroline for her birthday. Anna has been struggling to conceive for the past five years, but has recently been told that it is pointless to continue fertility treatments. She has a hard time hiding her jealousy over Caroline's pregnancy, and the gap between them grows.
The film is shot on location in Paris and Copenhagen. For the film’s main location, an empty Copenhagen apartment was transformed into a Parisian home, equipped with kitchen, living room, bedroom and guest room.
